We use a small, 9-seat Limousine Dcar Van. Our van is equipped with USB charging ports, free water, and free wifi. The van has big seats that recline and blankets. It is the most comfortable seat for a current car.
The distance from Hanoi to Ha Giang City is more than 300km, which takes about 6–6,5 hours by van. Included in the transfer time from Hanoi to Ha Giang is a 25-minute lunch break. A stop for dinner is included in our afternoon van.
For vans that leave at 6.45 AM both from Hanoi and Ha Giang, You will meet halfway around 10:30 AM at Ham Yen District, Tuyen Quang Province for a 25-minute break. The stop offers food and drinks (about 3 USD per meal). For vans that leave at 3:30 PM both from Hanoi and Ha Giang, this break is also at the same location at around 7 PM.
We can also drop you off directly at the Hanoi Airport (Noi Bai Airport) too if you use our van. Our vans usually arrive at the airport around 12.00 and 22.00. Any flight after 14.00 and 24.00 is good to book. Note that you need to pay an extra VND 50000 (USD 2,5)/person if you would like to drop off at the airport.
For private van rental, we can leave at your convenient time.

Most buses run at night and they are slow, taking about 8–9 hours to get from Hanoi to Ha Giang.
Additionally, buses are not cheaper—most of the buses leave from a station which is a few km away from the center of Hanoi. This adds costs to travel there for you.
Lastly, most night buses are not comfortable. They arrive outside of Ha Giang city center sometime between 3 and 5 AM when you can't check in to hotels or hostels. It is very important for your safety to be well-rested before starting the loop. Especially if by motorbike.
